Beachcomber’s Suction Fittings are made from high quality stainless steel for aesthetic beauty. They provide proper suction and water flow in accordance with the highest level of hydrodynamic engineering practice.
A unique and proprietary blend of materials called ‘Glassloc’ is used to strengthen and make rigid the underside of the cast acrylic sheet. Glassloc is hand rolled with a special steel tool to ensure that air is removed from the mixture and proper bonding takes place between the Glassloc and the cast acrylic sheet.
Small plastic fittings are used during the production and shipping process to cap off both the electrical access tubes. These small fittings prevent intrusion by rodents or insects and further protects the hot tub until proper installation takes place.
A high quality, durable Enviroskirt material is used for all LEEP™ and Hybrid3™ hot tub cabinets. This material is UV protected against the harmful rays of the sun, and is made from plastic composite material that is fully recyclable.
All Beachcomber Hot Tubs come standard with watertight security gaskets for equipment paks. These gaskets prevent water leakage and are designed to create a pinch seal when properly tightened to factory specifications.
Lighting in a Beachcomber Hot Tub comes from a specialized LED fixture developed specially for the pool and spa industry. This is called MicroStar Technology, and produces the colors of the rainbow at the touch of a button.
Acuralux forms the tactile, pleasing and usable finish surface of a Beachcomber Hot Tub. This highly durable and colorfast composite plastic is designed for a lifetime of use and enjoyment.
AutoKlean is a continuous cleaning and filtration action design, centering in the footwell area of the hot tub. This system uses Hush Sweepers. When Hush Sweepers are pointed towards the floor, they create a whirlpool effect that gently pushes and agitates debris to allow the suction(s) to trap the debris. This continuous movement removes the debris from the hot tub footwell for elimination during the draining process.
Economy Mode allows the operator to tell the hot tub to heat the water only during filter cycles. The operator can choose the set temperature on the control pad. This setting allows the hot tub owner to preset their chosen temperature. The hot tub will maintain this temperature while it is not in use for a period of time.
In line plumbed Suction Fittings serve to promote safe, efficient, continuous filtration, as well as removal of sand and debris from the footwell floor. Suction fittings create mild turbulence on the floor of the hot tub’s footwell, gently drawing and pushing debris towards the suctions and the Gravity Drain fitting.
The Microfilter is a cylindrical, fiber-finned filtration unit that filters hot tub water. The Microfilter is designed as a one piece, integrated unit to fit within the beginning of the water flow system, before the heater and pump. It is preceded by and capped with a Microfilter Basket to trap larger materials such as leaves, lint, hair and other debris from entering the heating chamber. The main function of the Microfilter is to trap the smallest of debris, and is a major contributor to the clarity of the hot tub water.
Programmable Cycle Settings control the functions of the hot tub by depressing buttons on the topside main control pad. These functions include temperature adjustments, warming and cooling action, heating modes, standby and economy modes, filtration cycles, inversion, locking, reminders and other main functions.
Cab Forward is a construction methodology unique to Beachcomber. This involves placing all hot tub electrical and pumping equipment outside the shell, cavity and cabinet of the spa. Equipment is specially designed to be housed outside the cavity for use underneath a safety entry/exit protective step.

A 4 inch / 10 cm valance skirt covers and protects the acrylic lip of the hot tub, allowing proper runoff and drainage, and overall beauty of the hot tub when the Heatshield cover is in place on the hot tub. All of Beachcomber Heatshields are designed with a taper, meaning that the center seam is higher than the outer edge, allowing for proper moisture runoff. Beachcomber is one of the few companies that manufacture a hot tub and spa Heatshield cover that is UL certified in accordance to ASTM F1346-91 Standards for a Manual Safety Cover. With stringent standards upheld by quarterly inspections, Beachcomber holds this authorization to bring the best to customers around the world.
Beachcomber’s proprietary method of insulating a hot tub, to provide maximum energy efficiency and structural integrity. This unique spray foam method utilizes an expanding open cell foam material, and is blown into the cavity of the hot tub during factory production, using a water process. The operator dispenses the foam to layer and fill the hot tub cavity. This expanding foam fills every crevice and potential air space, completely sealing and encapsulating all open space inside the hot tub cavity.
This foaming process is performed to world class standards now used for many modern energy efficient homes favored over the older batt-style insulation, and allows Beachcomber to provide an energy efficient, integrated unit that will perform in any climate in the world.
Knife style valves, or Gate Valves, are built into Beachcomber’s pumping equipment. These valves are designed to isolate hot tub water in the hot tub, allowing the equipment to be removed in the event of required service. The preservation of heated water is important to save energy and money for the home owner; Isolation Serviceability Valves (ISVs) allow equipment removal without draining the water.
A long lasting, full immersion electric heating element that heats and maintains spa water up to the bather’s desired temperature.
On average, Beachcomber Hot Tubs are 43% more efficient that industry leading competitors.
The average electrical consumption on a blended product line for manufacturers that have submitted results to the CEC. Results are constantly under industry review. New law is being adopted and enforced by local governments to ensure energy efficient products. Beachcomber’s continual outstanding energy efficient results prove that quality construction and excellence in design saves money in energy costs.
MicroStar Lighting Circuitry is designed using computer circuit boards that contain LED Diodes. These long lasting computer diodes are specifically designed to produce the full spectrum of ambient light for hot tub enjoyment, both above and below the water line. MicroStar lighting lasts up to 100,000 hours on average, providing long lasting light over the older incandescent style of lighting which was prone to failure.

A convenient control pad located on the lip of the hot tub within easy reach of bathers to control all hot tub functions at the touch of a button.
The Vacuum Seal Lip Design is a special seal that develops between the rolled acrylic lip of a Beachcomber Hot Tub and the Krevlon underside of the hot tub cover when the cover is placed in position on the hot tub. This seal provides a barrier between the outside elements and the interior, heated spa water, and prevents valuable heat from escaping. The Vacuum Seal Lip Design provides a high level of energy efficiency by trapping in the heat to help maintain correct water temperature.
All Beachcomber Hot Tub Heatshield Covers are UL Certified, and also meet the American Society for Testing and Materials Standard ASTM F1346-91: the “Standard Performance Specification for Safety Covers and Labeling Requirements for All Covers for Swimming Pools, Spas and Hot Tubs”.
Every Beachcomber Heatshield (except model 520 which is a single piece with no fold) receives a full width, 3mm aluminum C-Channel center rib. This rib gives structural strength and a high snow load rating for Power Guard Heatshields. The C-Channel is secured onto a pre-cut routered groove to ensure a tight bonded fit once the Heatshield is assembled.
Every Beachcomber Heatshield is built with quality in mind. The Continuous Heat Bumper Seal is a squeezable cylinder that runs the full length of the Heatshield cover, and is pinched between the two foam inserts when the Heatshield is closed. This compression action traps in heat into the water vessel, saving money in heating and electrical energy costs.
Each Beachcomber Heatshield is built with Cover Lockdown Safety Tabs as standard equipment. These special tabs are installed at the end of the lockdown straps, and fit into the lockable unit that is affixed to the hot tub cabinetry.
Beachcomber’s Heatshield Covers are built with twin access handles for the convenience of the hot tub owner. Both of these heavy duty handles are hand sewn directly into the main seam structure of the secured outer band of the cover. This style of construction gives added strength and durability.
A high density, pressed foam is trimmed and cut to size, and inserted into the Heatshield skin. This hard, foam inner provides the rigidity to the Heatshield Cover when in place on the hot tub.
Adding another moisture barrier to the underside of the Heatshield Cover, is the Krevlon Interior Liner. This grey colored liner is sewn into the main fabric system of the Heatshield and is in direct contact with the water moisture. It acts as a vapor barrier for the poly-sealed foam inserts.
Each Beachcomber Heatshield is wrapped in a tight fitting, marine grade vinyl outer ‘skin’. This heavy duty vinyl skin is UV protected, and is fully washable. Marine zippers encase the rigid foam inserts inside the skin to provide a high quality, durable hot tub cover.
Inside the outer edge of the hinge of each Beachcomber Heatshield is a hand sewn in Superior Steam Sealer. These two small vinyl covered gaskets are added protection against heat loss, and found at both ends of the hinge. They prevent heat and steam from escaping, and maximize the heat retention capabilities of your Beachcomber Heatshield.
A sensible tapered design allows rain and run off for the best drainage. The internal foam inserts are cut in once piece and beveled with a tapered style. This makes the cover taller at the hinge, and runs to a shorter height at the outer edge for proper water drainage. This style of construction prevents water pooling and water absorption.
Every Beachcomber Heatshield Cover comes with a two year Guarantee from the factory against defects in materials or workmanship. We stand behind our products. This is Beachcomber’s promise to our customers, that the Heatshield will perform as promised.
Each foam insert for Beachcomber Heatshields are sealed from the factory in a heavy duty poly bag. Using a vacuum sealer, air is pulled from the inserts to make it as air tight as possible.
Each foam inner is trimmed on two corners at a six inch radius. Once inserted, the inner seats itself securely into each corner for a very tight fit.
Beachcomber’s FlexJets allow users to customize the number of jets and jet patterns to design desired to enjoy the ultimate in personal massage and therapy seating.
The recycling of hot air generated by pumping equipment is achieved by pumping the air back into the hot tub and spa water. Special conduits are routed to the Energy Saver Management System compartment, in order to capture warm air that is then sent through the FlexJets.
Beachcomber’s massage design gives users the gamut of full body massage from the neck down to the feet, in combination with available FlexJet placement and customization.
The capability of a FlexJet to be adjusted anywhere from the off position to the on position.
This is a specifically designed seating area that does not contain any Waterports or FlexJets, just the smooth feel of the cast acrylic seating area. The Rest-Easy Seat allows one area in the hot tub for quiet soaking without FlexJets. All others can enjoy an AllActive Seating Massage at the same time, for every bather. The Rest-Easy Seat is a form fitting seat that does not have any water action and can be common for those who do not want any FlexJet action.
A common theme of large footwells (noun) is found throughout the Beachcomber Hot Tub lineup. These deep, large footwells provide the best comfort and relaxation for spa bathers with room to move and relax.
Watersockets are holes drilled into the shell of a Beachcomber Hot Tub by a digital robot. These Watersocket holes are pre-plumbed from the factory with a special PVC fitting that will accept a Massage Insert Body which contains from one to seven separate jets.
Building combinations of jetting therapy to achieve a desired result. These combinations are achieved using Massage Inserts that have from one, to seven different jet orifices. Selected Massage Insert locations are interchangeable within each hot tub, allowing the user to mix and match their desired massage seating by simply twisting out the Massage Insert as they would with a light bulb.
Beachcomber’s plumbing technology is designed by engineers who study the flow of water. AllActive Seating Massage gives a Beachcomber Hot Tub the capability of running all upper floor seating at the same time, in every seat. This allows every bather to enjoy FlexJet massage together.
Beachcomber harnesses the power of UVC light for your hot tub and spa water. Beachcomber’s ClearTech utilizes the same familiar blue UVC light used in hospital surgical settings by doctors and hospital staff, food preparations facilities and municipal and county water facilities responsible for supplying water to households across North America. The optional ClearTech UVC Water Care System exposes the water to a special lamp that oxidizes inorganic compounds and reduces chlorine/bromine consumption.
Hybrid construction moves the hot tub's power source from the inside of the hot tub cavity to the outside, to be housed under a safety step. Beachcomber's Hybrid style of construction began in 1983 as 'Protec'. Today, Hybrid has taken the original Protec another step further with state of the art digital water management and many other new features.
Hybrid was changed to 'Hybrid3®' in 2012 to reflect the three proven elements needed in a hot tub for it to earn this designation. Independent studies confirm these three options are what make a hot tub energy efficient.
*Available only on Hybrid3® Hot Tubs.
The Hybrid3 equipment pak is housed beneath the Hybrid SafeAxiss Step Accessory, and rests on a custom made Noise Reduction Hybrid3 Equipment Pad. This base is made of high tensile plastic, with pre-formed fittings and pre-drilled holes to accept the proper equipment pak for that model.
Beachcomber’s Watersocket Technology consists of a series of drilled holes within the hot tub shell that house the FlexJet Massage Inserts. The plumbing engineering behind these Waterports encompasses a marriage between Beachcomber designers, engineers and factory personnel, as well as trusted suppliers and their engineering personnel. Watersockets feature a threaded port, like a light bulb.
Beachcomber offers to the original owner of the hot tub a complete Guarantee that is effective worldwide. This factory Guarantee consists of a series of coverages for different components.
Beachcomber’s structural integrity behind the aesthetic acrylic shell is an important part of both the strength of the shell as well as the ability to offer a full Guarantee to the new hot tub owner. This is not something that is seen by the hot tub buyer, but is an ever present element of Beachcomber’s highest quality construction.
Organizations exist that certify appliances and other products for use by the end user for safety and compliance with regulations and approvals. Beachcomber Hot Tubs meets or exceeds these standards.
The new Title 20 Law standard is now being enforced by the concerned governments in certain markets to verify claims about hot tub and spa energy usage. A third party testing facility requested hot tubs to be sent to their facility for testing – only 23 hot tubs in total were sent from a handful of the 100+ manufacturers in America and Canada. Three out of the nine hot tubs that passed the testing were Beachcombers. In markets that have stringent power standards like the state of California, energy efficiency is a serious concern for government appliance efficiency regulations.
Beachcomber Hot Tubs are certified to the State of California, pursuant to Title 20.
Ergonomics is one of the most important factors in a hot tub. Providing every available detail to facilitate the relaxation, stress relief and massage experience is a key goal for our designers. Our Body Molded Hand Grips are conveniently incorporated into the hot tub mold directly into the wide rolled lip. These hand grips have been integrated into the lip without compromising the integrity of the vacuum Heatshield seal. Strategically placed hand grips allows for safe entry and exit of your Beachcomber Hot Tub, as well as making movement within the hot tub safe, easy and effortless.
Every Beachcomber Hot Tub is equipped with a floor drain regardless of its options or pricing structure. Beachcomber designers feel that this is a necessary fixture to offer to the owner so that they can drain all the water in their hot tub, as they would with a bathtub in a house.
A convenience for our customers comes in a small fitting within the Mechanical Enclosure. A fill and drain hose bib is plumbed directly to the center of the hot tub’s foot well, to gravity drain fitting. This allows the hot tub owner to fully drain the hot tub water by attaching a standard garden hose. This extra convenience is included with every Beachcomber Spa to make the spa easier to use and enjoy.
Beachcomber offers ten Acuralux Acrylic colors, with three different Enviroskirt Cabinetry colors, and two Heatshield Cover colors. This is 9 x 3 x 2 = 54 different color combinations that you can choose from. Beachcomber feels that it is right for our customers to be able to make a choice in a big investment like a hot tub.
One of the biggest pain centers for many people today is in the cervical or upper neck area. Whether it be from an accident, office work, physical labor or a prior injury, neck pain can be a constant source of irritation and discomfort. Beachcomber offers in many models a Neck FlexJet, just at the water line.
Every square inch of usable space for bathers is maximized in a Beachcomber Hot Tub. The Microfilter Filtration System is housed in the corner of every hot tub we make. A custom made lid covers the Microfilter components, and also gives you a place to set up to eight drinks and refreshments.
A Beachcomber Hot Tub is designed to perform in all seasons, outside under the elements. Relaxing in warm, swirling waters, and looking up to see the stars enhances the bathing experience. But to enhance the functionality of our hot tubs, and to keep them looking beautiful for years to come, we have always used a vertical cabinet design. It may seem like a simple detail, but it has a big impact over time. Water can drain down and away from the hot tub.
Each Beachcomber Hot Tub we build receives our Glassloc bonding process. This time proven process over the past 35 years has put countless hot tubs and spas in homes around the world, guaranteed for life. This special process was invented in the late 1970’s, after much study as to the best and longest lasting materials that could be used to build the proper structure into hot tubs and spas at that time. As founders Keith and Judy Scott had experience in swimming pools, they decided to use the same backing material on their spas. This same process continues today and is proven to be the highest quality.
Part of the quality journey at Beachcomber has been in our thought process of bringing value to the hot tub owner at every level. Even the smallest details are significant to us. Our breakaway union kit that is installed on our hot tubs uses features that are not seen often in the spa industry.
All Beachcomber Hot Tubs are heated and cleaned using a digital controller specially built for aquatic environments. Built into this circuitry is a freeze protection function. This senses the temperature down to 44 degrees F / 7 degrees C and will activate pumps for two minutes to help circulate water.
Hydronic Radiant Heat (HRH) is designed to recycle and conserve heat. The internal plumbing acts as a thermal blanket, directly resting on the hot tub shell. HRH systems takes the same thought process as custom radiant floor heating in modern homes.
Beachcomber’s hot tubs are built to always hold water. And to accomplish that goal, many processes to maximize product quality are in place to ensure that our customers get the very best product in the world. Our commitment to quality is personified in this small but important step, to prevent a water leak. Specially designed torqueing tools were developed by our engineering staff to perfect this locking clamp method for all water lines.
Beachcomber employees layer our specialized backing material during spray application. This layering during application ensures complete coverage over the shell, to achieve a superior level of shell strength to last a lifetime. This special resin hardens within a 16 hour curing period and forms the integral structure of our hot tubs.
The art of pushing water is best defined as ‘hydrodynamics’. Beachcomber engineers study water flow, and how to maximize pump power at each FlexJet location. Using Sweep plumbing fittings, instead of ninety degree fittings helps water move at a much higher rate, increasing flow, and maximizing massage power.
Minimizing the use of ninety degree fittings within the hot tub’s plumbing design helps to get the very most from pump power.
One of our goals in building a hot tub is to bring the very best in therapy massage, as well as pleasing and inviting water action. The placement of each FlexJet is a critically important subject when looking at the best water action, and the ultimate in massaging capabilities. Both must be accomplished at the same time. To accomplish this purpose, we use two inch piping throughout most of our hot tubs to allow a large volume of water to flow to the FlexJets.
This Mechanical Enclosure houses all the pumping and heating equipment for your hot tub. It is a custom built, made to order enclosure specially cast for Beachcomber. All holes for plumbing pipes are predrilled on a jig to accept the connections between the pumping equipment and the internal plumbing equipment.
